Originally written in 1913, this song reached it's highest pinnacle of success
in 1947, when no less than 6 competing versions ALL charted. Buddy Clark
(my favorite one) reached #1, as did the version by The Harmonicats, and
the version by the Three Suns. Art Lund reached #4 on the charts while Ted
Weems came in right behind at #5. Last, but not least, was the version by
Clark Dennis which finished in the #8 position. WOW!! What a year!!!!!
PEG O’ MY HEART

Words by Alfred Bryan
Music by Fred Fisher

A Mickey McBride Arrangement

Refrain

PEG O’ MY HEART, I LOVE YOU,

DON’T LET US PART, I LOVE YOU,

I ALWAYS KNEW IT WOULD BE YOU,

SINCE I HEARD YOUR LILTING LAUGHTER,

IT’S YOUR IRISH HEART I’M AFTER,

PEG O’ MY HEART, YOUR GLANCES...

MAKE MY HEART SAY... “HOW’S CHANCES?”,

COME BE MY OWN,

COME MAKE YOUR HOME IN MY HEART,

PEG O’ MY HEART, I LOVE YOU,

WE’LL NEVER PART, I LOVE YOU,

DEAR LITTLE GIRL, SWEET LITTLE GIRL,

SWEETER THAN THE ROSE OF ERIN,

ARE YOUR WINNING SMILES ENDEARIN’,

PEG O’ MY HEART, YOUR GLANCES...

WITH IRISH ART ENTRANCE US,

COME BE MY OWN,

COME MAKE YOUR HOME IN MY HEART,

(Repeat Refrain)
